RE: White Residue on hull 2005 211
I bet this maybe lime deposits from the lake water. If the bodie of water you has a limestone basin I have seen this left on the hull. You can spray with a LimeAway and wash with soap and water, rinse alot.2004 Air Nautique SV 211

RE: White Residue on hull 2005 211
Is the boat stored in the sun for long periods? My '93 SN started its life on a lift in the sun, so I've battled with hazy gelcoat for years. In my case, its not a residue, but the black stripe in the gelcoat begins to turn a hazy white after year or two. I use a 3 or 4 step polishing process with a variable speed buffer (set on a slow speed up until waxing) and 3M products that make it look new, though it is labor intensive. You can buy the whole package through Jamestown Distributors. Done correctly, this not only makes the gelcoat shine like new, but doesn't hurt the decals on my boat. The speed at which you compound is the key.
