    07 210 Slippin

My 07 210- turned 1 this weekend(bought her last Aug 8th from central valley marine) - and when my rider fell(1st and only rider of the day), as i throttled into forward gear from neutral - i noticed that it didnt engage (slipped?) for a second or so, then bit. So it reved up maybe to 750-800 rpms then engaged. As soon as i felt this, I put it to neutral again, and tried again - and did the same thing. Put her into reverse - acted normal, then put her into forward again(3rd time) did same thing. :|

Got the rider in the boat, and headed back to the marina. Boat drove flawless the whole way back to the marina(only cruised her at about 25mph). When I got to the 5 mph bouys - i pulled her back to neutral - and tried again - no slip at all - normal. tried a few more times as I had to circle around and get her on the trailer, etc and normal. :???:

What could be going on here???? Shes at 130hrs - Got her 100 hr service at 90hrs about 2 months ago- so shes at 40hrs right now after the 100hr.

Any thoughts, ideas, concerns?? Ill be dropping her off with the dealer on tuesday, but would like to know some thoughts from you folks prior to speaking with the service folks.Thanks.

    Anyone???

More info - boat only had about 750 of extra weight on top of internal ballast & 3 people on the boat - so not heavy at all.

Could this be a tranny issue - or vdrive issue???

I don't know v-drives, only direct drives. With that disclaimer, check your transmission fluid level. That is the only thing I can think of that would cause slippage as you described. Keep us posted.

sounds like your drive by wire is out of sync or you trans is low on fluid

thanks Jasper & Mikeski - dropped her off at the dealer today - well see what they find. The service manager says sounds like its low tranny fluid - BUT - my question is how would my tanny fluid be low at 40hrs past the 100hr service??? I havent been pushin the boat hard at all - barely been puttin much weight on her this summer since Im nursing a hurt knee - and usually only have 1 or 2 heads in the boat. I never even ever go past 3/4 throttle when cruisin around either??? This boat has been super pampered since hr 1.

Hope its something simple and done with. In 130 hrs - ive had a bad starter(went out on me the first day of the season this year after winterization) back in Feb. A funny noise when I de-throttle right before it gets to neutral which started right before I hit 80 hrs & now the tranny slippin.

NOT the greatest introduction to FINALLY getting my dream boat. Im staying patient & positive though............

Hey Migs, I'd suggest you find another place to get your boat serviced. I bought my 236 from Central Valley last year and after a horrible experience with Larry and the service (or lack thereof) would never let them touch my baby. There some minor things with my boat that were supposed to be fixed...most were never fixed...and thank goodness I am anal about checking fluids in my ride or else I would have run a brand new boat that was low on both trans and motor fluid. I'm still not sure what they alledgedly prepped on my boat & charged me $400 for it. The folks up at California Marine Sports in Vacaville have been awesome if you don't mind a 45-60 minute drive. To put my own experience with Central Valley Marine Service in perspective, I drive from Fremont to Vacaville in order to get my boat serviced.

Boatmasters in Livermore is highly recommended. Several of the guys in my club go there. Have not heard anything good about Central Valley. California Marine Sports is definately worth the drive. That's where I go when I need something.

WOW  not good to hear....& something to definately think about. Ill see how it goes this round with them and see if they take care of everything.

Kaikane - do you go to the Fairfield dealership to get the 236 serviced, or do you have to go to the suison city location??? So i take it that all your warranty is good there and everyhting involved warranty wise - right? Do you need to have any documents sent over to them from central valley?? Hows the turnover time over there?

I went to the Vacaville location, just didn't ask about the Suisun location...I think they have a full shop there as well. Transfer of warrantee work is very easy since Correct Craft has records of my boat purchase and I didn't have to send anything over that i can recall. Turnaround was great for my first 30 hour service (2 days) where CV Marine wanted a week. I've heard good things about Boatmasters as well. Only bummer is I don't believe they have a certified CC mechanic on the team...but they do have certified PCM mechanics so probably ok.

Bottom line is I would make Larry or whoever you're working with at CV walk you through everything they did and verify that the work was done to proper standards.
