I took both props into the dealer on Tuesday--pick up tomorrow. He said sometimes after reconditioning they will have a high pitched noise but they shouldl be able to fine tune it to remove the whistle at no extra cost. Which is good becuase I don't need $860 in spare props. I'll run both this weekend and let you know.

Sorry to hear about the mechanical problems. To do that much damage to your running gear was there a prop left?

Didn't seem to be really horrible....but it goes to show that looks are deceiving. Confirms to me that having a professional look at damage is always a good idea.

Now that I relook at these pictures, I can see some of the cracking at the strut support.

I understand why the other damage. Glad you took it to the dealer and glad to hear your staying away from a stainless prop.

Picked up and tested both props this evening. Both are perfect. I was told the noise was caused because the blade that was repaired was not sanded all the way to the tip. This left a minor imperfection that caused the high pitched noise.

This was a No Charge item from the Prop Shop because it was not completely repaired the first time.

            ICAP,

Thanks for the information. Good to know. My new prop from SKIDIM should be coming any day. Nice to know that I can have the apare fixed free of charge (hopefully)...

            Thanks again,

BB-Splash 180 - I think I read in another thread that you are from IN. Did that damage happen to occur at Monroe at he point by 4 Winds launch? It looks very similar to the damage I recieved there.

That point is very poorly marked and has eaten alot of props - I think the Marina must drop a few large rocks in the area every time by to keep business up_))&*&(%*(*%.

It was Monroe....and it was up towards the northern part....I think that the spot is named "Million Dollar Point"....seems that I am not the first.

BTW - I got my boat back last night. MD Boats did an awesome job. You have to really get the light in the right position to even tell that any Fiberglass work has been done. Also, I got an upgraded 14" dia. prop.....looks cool...

Some friend's of friends of ours bought a brand new air nautique just like ours a few years ago and ended up ripping a hole in the bottom of the boat there at four winns..and the boat was only a few weeks old. I've been going there all my life and I still have to drill it into my head to swing really really wide on that point...it looks so innocent.

Also - got a ticket at Monroe for being on plane too close to shore...ie. the only place to get good water, a few weeks ago.. REally really ticked me off...been boating all my life...know the lake extremely well..probably one of the safest boats out on the entire lake...tons of other boats doing things 10 times more dangerous in our vicinity,....and we get a ticket for being on plane 150ft from shore. So be careful unless you want to shell out $93.50....arrgh.

                    Amen Brother!!

Speakin' of 4 Winds Point - they've got these buoys out there marking the idle speed area and buoys marking the rocky point - they are the same Dang buoys. The red balls are much closer to he shore than needed and they ought to us bigger better markers in the correct places on that lake.

Speaking of tickets - we were over-idling in one night last weekend after a late ride, luckily some other chump blew us off the water - the fuzz were at the end of the dock waiting - we got lucky!

Monroe still holds some good water early and late, but you have to hit the shore line. What's wrong with 22 MPH boarders by the shore when there are 55' Fountains going 80 MPR past little kids on tubes in the middle of the day or Grandma and Grandpa Cruisers cutting corners and taking the wrong side of the boat with tubes flying in the air at 30+ MPH and kids screaming for their lives?

                    Outta breath!

                    Keep ridin'!!
