    Intermittin starting circut 2001GT-40...

My PAN decided to not start yesterday on the river... Push the start switch and nothing but a click under the dash.... after a few min we tried it again and got couple of short intermitten bursts out of the starter... few min later got one and it fired... IT was like cool I dont have to beg for a tow... did cut a good day short.... Got it home and after a hour of t/s found the neutral switch had too long of a screw installed and was just barley making contact on the terminal end... could be moved by hand...
added a washer from the parts bin (coffee can)... we are running again... FYI check the neutral switch terminal if you've had intermitten starting... my guess is its been like this from the factory.... no work in that area at the dealer that I know of....

Check your neutral safety in the throttle and also check your battery connection. I had a slightly corroded connection at the battery that was acting the same way.

If you have a test light, check to make sure that the starter relay on the back of the engine is getting power.

Also check the main battery cables, some of the 00/01 boats had poor crimping between the cable and the terminal. All of the crimps will need checking.

there again you might want to try to start the engine with the motor box up and listen for a clicking sound from the back of the motor. if it clicks a hand full of times then starts you have a bad starter relay. that is a known grimlin on any ford motor....even in automotive.
