    Hydro gate '09 216v

We were trying to slalom ski today behind a 216v and we trying to use the hydro gate to smooth out the wake. There was very little difference in the wake @ 32 mph. WE then inspected the gate and found from the vertical "up" position it is only coming down about 20 - 25 degrees. Is this correct or should it come down to a horizontal position when the lever is pulled back?

    RE: Hydro gate

    This is normal.
The gate works as a vertical plate which comes up or down to change the hull setting a little (0.5" ). The part that does angle (20-25 degrees) has no function except to allow the plate to shift up and down allong the transom.

Thanks for the explanation. Since it appears my Hydro-Gate is actually working then the Slalom wake is really bad. Very disappointed with it.

At 32mph, any of the crossover type boats is gonna have a bad wake or slalom. Certainly nowhere close to decent slalom boat. At 34, it gets better. But it's still a big compromise.
