    MOTOR CUTTING OUT

Not our best day today. We have a 2008 210 SAN.

Had a bunch of relatives over for some riding and the first pull snapped the rope. Must have had a cut in it. It was our old rope but my kid left his good one at work.

Got that back together and had some great fun with new riders learning how to wakeboard and surf in the same day.

Finished off on a down turn.

When pulling at 24 MPH the motor started cutting out on and off intermittently. Seemed like fuel starvation. Running with 3/4 tank at the time 10 people and ballast.

It seemed OK at slower speed/RPM so we switched to surfing. At the end of the run it did it again.

What do you guys think? Fuel filter? Pump? Bad fuel? Anythin else?

    RE: MOTOR CUTTING OUT

We have the Nautique factory cruise control system shipped standard on the new boats.

It has been suggested to me that the unit in the steering wheel has a small battery in it that may been replacing.

Can someone confirm this and what type of battery does it use?

I am not near the boat at the moment.

No clue on the battery. Is your dealer near you? On an 08, that would be my first call.

Sorry this is not more insightful.

Dealer is having some service issues they are working through. They have now told me that the battery is a VIMMIC CR2032.

What I am more interested in now is the problem with the boat and if anyone else has experienced this and what the solution was.

It feels like fuel starvation. It has only happend with full ballast and passengers when pulling a rider. If it was a fuel filter or contaminated fuel would it not continue to be an issue all the time?

I do not know how you could integrate a speed control system where it continued to provide input to the computer when the system was switched off.

Turned out to be a dirty fuel filter. Pretty much what I was expecting, sent down the Cruise Control path.
