Check engine light on python 502

My check engine light on my 2000 supersport with python 502 won't go off. Had it to the dealer and they put it on the computer and everything was perfect. Does anyone know what parameters will light the check engine light on this engine so I know what to look for?

RE: Check engine light on python 502

basic stuff = temp, oil pressure, and voltage. The computer probably has a few other symptoms that may trigger it. The other one is V-drive oil, did you check that? Try downloading the PCM 8.1 manual and see what that says. They don't seem to have one for the 8.2.

All fluid levels are good. I heard the python had 2 oil sensors, one for the pressure guage and one for oil level for and it operates the idiot light, independent of the OBD system. I may try disconnecting it and see if the light goes off.

I am not sure about the second oil level sensor. These motors use a lot of oil, and I have never had mine go off when it got low. Only happened a couple times, I am usually good about checking it. Has yours ever gotten excessively low?

I just read the 2002 PCM manual on the alarm and check engine light. It is just oil pressure and temperature.
It states that the boat will go into limp mode if this alarm goes off. Did yours go into the limp?

my oil level never got low. The boat ran for about 3 hours with the light on and it hasn't gone into limp mode yet.

Maybe try disconnecting your batteries for a bit, and see if that gets rid of it. You can replace the senders, too.
Perhaps the sender light itself has a problem. I take it the alarm is not going off? Or is your beeper disconnected?

Happened on my "99. It is either the oil pressure sender or the water temp sensor. Mine was oil pressure. Real easy to fix and at the time about $40.
