My dealer supplied us with a boat cover when we purchased our 220 new. Even though our boat is parked in a fully enclosed boat house on our lake, after three years it is starting to show some signs of age and I want to get it looking clean again. I've read online about just washing it and then hanging it up to dry however I just wanted to hear from those of you who have washed your boat covers how you went about doing it. Did you lay the cover down on cement/grass and get on it to clean or what?

RE: Any ideas on how to clean the boat cover?
Yep, threw my sunbrella material cover in the washing machine with soap and a little bleach. Then layed it out on the driveway to dry. Have done it once a year.Shane Hill

RE: Any ideas on how to clean the boat cover?
To avoid laying the boat cover on the ground I place my cover over my SUV then wask it down with the garden hose and some mild soap detergent, rinse it off then turn it around and do the other side. Works great and the water drains off easy.
Only hassle is you have to give the car a wash down afterwards however the boat cover is easy to clean, water drains off easy and it dries quicker than if you left if on the ground.

flaudia402, you have the right idea, take it to a laudromat where they have those jumbo washers. In terms of drying, lay it on your trailer after you put the boat in the water.2001 Air Nautique

Jumbo washer with a mild detergent works well. Do two rinse cycles.
You can also take it to the car wash and hit it with the wand.
Make sure you get the 303 Fabric Guard on there afterward. This is the one with the green label. Don't spray that stuff near the boat. Use it liberally. A garden sprayer works well for this.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

I second the thorough soaking with 303 Fabric Guard. Buy a lot- at least 2 32oz bottles if not more.1990 Ski Nautique
