Electrical power dies at speed. GT40 2002 SAN

This one stumps me. Boat starts. Cruises all day at wakeboard speed 20 - 25 mph. Over 4,000 rpms for more than a few minutes all power dies. Nothing. No gauges, no keypad, no electrical power.

I keypad start combo and boat fires back up. This also happens during very quick acceleration. Bam, no power. Dead in water. Key in code and press start, everything fires back up.

Cleaned all battery terminals, new battery, cleaned contacts on coil wire. I'm running 1800 watts stereo, 1 farad capacitor, but it happens when stereo is off.

Any ideas? This has happened about 20 times in last few weeks. The boat always restarts after re-entering code and start on keypad.

Are you running a single battery or multiple? If you have two batteries are they on a switch?

It's running one battery with stock alternator. But, spoke to marina mechanic today. He said it was the shut-off toggle switch that was bad. He replaced it and hopefully that's the end of it.

I do need to upgrade my battery/alternator arrangement.

Where'd you get the underwater lights? I'd like to put some in my boat.

I got them thru a group buy on wakeworld. They are the exact same light as the www.bulletlines.com lights though. I hope it was just the switch as that is definately a cheap fix.

There have a been a couple threads about that master toggle being a source of problems.

For his boat it is under the dash on the kick panel. It switches from master power off to on and then bilge only.
