The boat has around 600 hours on it. This weekend I was driving at 40 mph for about 10 minutes when the engine went dead. All the gauges were within normal range. I checked both the fuel cell and fuel rail by depressing the valves. Gas was present. Still would not start (engine would crank). I checked all the breakers and knocked on the two relays under the engine by the 3 breakers. None appeared to have been popped. About 5 minutes into my tow home, I was able to restart the engine. The water was calm and the stereo was on and loud at the time (not that it should matter). Any ideas?

Sorry to hear about your boat.
I was looking at your screen name and where you live. Do you go to/have a place at Echo Lodge? I'm asking because that's where out place is...UL13.

Do this primary ignition system test:
http://planetnautique.com/index.php?...=ignition+test
Do this fuel pressure test:
http://planetnautique.com/index.php?...=fuel+pressure
That should narrow down your engine problems a lot.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: 01 Air Nautique Died Suddenly
One of the relays supplies power to the ignition system, the engine's computer, and the coil of the fuel pump relay. The other relay supplies power to the two fuel pumps.
Both of the "cube" or "Bosch" relays have power applied at pin 30 of each relay, all the time the battery is connected.
The key applies power to the ignition/computer relay coil at pin 86 and the coil is always grounded through pin 85.
Power is then applied to pin 86 of the fuel pump relay. When the engine computer decides it needs to turn the fuel pumps on, the computer grounds pin 85, turning the fuel pumps on.
