The theory here is pretty simple. The sensors monitor various parts of the engine and the EEC is the computer that reads this informantion and uses it to control parts of the engine. The below diagram lists the sensors and the control items. Click image for larger version

      Hello all,
Im new to the site and after spending some time Looking at the different posts I'm convinced the boat I recently purchased was jjgag60 boat. It ran fine when I went to pick it up but it now stalls in idle or when going from neutral to fist position. Ex. When coming into the dock to pick up ridders or when putting the boat back on the trailer. RPM's rev as if it is searching. If you have any knowledge of this boat to pass on or any advice on where to start with trouble shooting I would greatly appreciate it. Stoked on the boat, just want it to be reliable form my family. Thanks in advance..

If the engine is hunting rpms at idle up and down, my first guess will be the TPS. I recommend buying a Ford unit or from PCM the ones from the national parts stores don't seem to last in cars. You can buy a code reader pretty cheap to scan for codes. The EEC IV system is pretty easy to trouble shoot.
