I just got an '08 211 and expected top in of around 44 but are only getting 39. I am not sure of the pitch of my prop. What can I expect??

RE: 211 top in speed
I have an 07 211 and get about 44 with both props I have (SE and TE). The Team prop has better hole shot but for some reason I don't lose any top end.
Unfortunately I don't have the numbers of the props right now, just the one that came on my SE and I got a rebuilt Team prop to improve my hole shot.

RE: 211 top in speed
I have a 07 211 and currently have a 645 on. I think that is the correct number but it was the team prop. Top speed is around 42-43 GPS. Top speed with power prop(1235) was about 38-39 and top speed with standard prop was 43-45 n(not gps). 38-39 top "end" is limited by RPM not power. I like the power prop for surfing but I like the Team prop better for all around. The other prop is what came standard and would be great for cruising but a little slow out of the hole.

RE: 211 top in speed
I have had about 6 different props on my 211. Most produce a top speed in the 42-47 range depending on other factors (speakers, batteries, fuel tank level, bimini, etc). The exception is the 1234 prop that only has a 14" pitch, I don't think it would break 40 with that prop. It also destroyed the slalom wake.

RE: 211 top in speed
RLS, the 1160, 644, 536, and even the 380 seem to produce about the same ski wake. Something about that big 14" prop that just hurls golf ball sized water pellets at your waist (28 off). Obviously its not a pleasant ride unless you are into a little masochism.

RE: 211 top in speed
I have the 1235 prop 14.5 x 14.25. It sounds like I'm getting the expected speed that I should with this pitch prop. I am reading speed from the zero off and getting around 5200 rpm. I'll try a different prop and see how it does. I'm interested that a different prop will improve my slalom wake, it's not that good with the current prop.

Lazrburn,
I would recommend a 644/645 depending on the motor rotation (same prop just opposite rotation) for the best all around performance if you are a slalom skier as well as a wakeboarder.
I have seen top speeds of 46-47 without the bimini or running downwind, fill the rear ballast tanks and pull the wake gate into wakeboard mode. It will pick up 2-3 mph then start porpoising. Most inboard boats actually run faster if you put some weight in the very rear of the boat (old barefooter's trick). A guy named eagledriver ran 57mph GPS in his highly modified Malibu Response with three 200lb guys standing on the swim platform (pushing around 500hp).
