So what you are saying is that just because fuel leaks out of some shrader valves, you think the fuel pressure is OK?
How many times do we have to tell you to actually check the fuel pressure.

If you have fuel injection, you have a ECU. Call the Dealer back and see if they used a code scanner on your motor, to figure out the problem. If they didn't, they are quessing what is wrong. Daniel C is right, you have to use a fuel pressure gauge to see what is happening. You hook it up and then start the boat and watch the gauge. It cost less then $40, and you will need one as long as you own a Gt-40. If they did use a scanner, they should have cleared out all the codes, so when you take it back, any new codes will be present. B.O.A.T stands for, Bring Out Another Thousand. This website has a owners manual and touble shooting section for the Gt-40. You should print it out and read it, it is really informative.

One other thing you might check after you check your pressure. If by "spike", you mean your motor was hunting for an idle, there are two more sensors you might want to replace yourself. You can purchase them from NAPA for about $20.00 each. They are the ACT and the ECT. The ACT was bad on mine and caused the motor to run real rich. It would hunt and never idle. Remember to undo the battery cable, Negitive first and then positive, and let the computer sit overnight with no power. This will help to clear some of the old "RAM" and when you start it again it will go back to the origianl settings not the "learned setting" from the old sensors. When you hook the battery back up go positive first then negitive.

            RE: Gt-40

Well its been another month without the boat and I think we have most of the problem ironed out. The CC dealer called to have me come with them to test the boat out before they give it back to me. They told me they replaced the Idle Air Sensor again because they found a crack in the new one they installed. They also said they ran the boat on a "fake lake" and ran it in their dip tank at which time they report it ran great. Then they took it to the lake where it didn't run very well & wasn't idleing well. They made some adjustments and said it ran really good then. When I showed up for the final test that day they wanted to start it and run it on the fake lake before taking it to the lake. I got in and "tried" to start it but it wouldnt. Lots of sputtering. I left that day with the boat still not running. They called me the next day and said they replaced the Throttle Posistion Sensor which they found was causing the boat to not start. They said they found this by fiddling with some wires!! I went back to the dealer to pick up the boat and it started up and ran great. But now I noticed the Shifter/Throttle is not operating how it should. It is not smooth like it was when I dropped it off at the dealer. I think they messsed with something when they replaced the throttle position sensor. I told them about the problem and now I have to bring the boat back for that. Anyway, I took the boat to the lake and ran it around for about 15 minutes and it runs great. No idleing problems, smooth strong acceleration and no stalling.

Addition: I asked the dealer to reinstall the other sensors (MAP and idle air) which they replaced and they said they didn't have them anymore!! What the heck. Aren't they supposed to keep those parts until they finish fixing the boat. They said that they always put the bad parts in a box in the boat. But there are no parts and no box. I only have the idle position sensor that they replaced which they gave me yesterday. I was planning on having the parts put back in the boat as they seem to not have been the cause of the problem. Now I can't and it seems I can't even send them away to PCM to be tested. What do I do now. Thats about $400 in parts I didn't need. I don't mind paying for the labor, just not the parts which probably weren't even bad.

Before I took the boat into the dealer I had to clean it up first. Apparently they don't have a mechanic to look at the boat and they had to ship it out to another boat dealer... Well they forgot to bring it back with the cover and it has been sitting out in the elements for who knows how long and is quite dusty and dirty. Theres a new stain on the floor that is of some substance that has hardened the carpet and the tops of the upholstery has engine grease and grim on them, I'm guessing from the mechanic. Looks like they didn't cover anything up when they worked on the boat. The outside of the boat has a grease line around it from their nasty dip tank and one of the Bearing Buddy caps is missing which caused grease to fling all over the tire and wheel well. Took the boat in today (Tuesday) for them to fix the throttle/shifter problem and the dealer was pretty sure that they didn't cause the problem with the shifter, even though it happened while at their shop... So the cost to repair it will be on me. I think I'm done with this dealer and now will have to go about driving some distance to find a dealer that is more reliable. The dealer also said they couldn't find the parts they replaced and that there is nothing they can do about it.
