Can someone tell me what the gateway box is? What is it for, where is it, etc. What does it have to do with Perfect pass, etc. They seem to be pretty pricey...

RE: Gateway Box
On my 206 it is in the trunk behind a plastic cover. Not sure exactly what all it is for but the speedo pickup's and I believe all the gauges are wired thru it. One important thing during winterization and/or layup is to disconnect the pickup tubes to ensure they drain fully, it is supposed to be self draining however that was not the case with mine over it's first winter and the circuit board inside got wet and fried, dealer fixed under warranty. Have no idea if PP is wired through it.

RE: Gateway Box
The Gateway box is used on LImiteds and Teams only, not SE's. It takes the canbus interface from the engine ECM and drives the gauges. On drive by wire systems in 06 and 07, it also has a perfect pass chip instead of having an outboard perfect pass master module.Shane Hill

RE: Gateway Box
On an '07LE, does a wiring harness need to be purchased to connect to the gateway, or is it pre-wired to simply attached to a display? It was a snap to install in my '06SE, I just needed the master module. It's actually a dirty little secret how inexpensive PP can be added to these boats!'08 196LE (previous)
