I have a 2000 SNOB and have had to have the Teleflex LCD speedometer and tach replaced five times due to malfunction. Has anyone else had this problem? I finally got the issue resolved by getting regular old gauges put on but it cost me some cash.

Im not real happy with my speedo... its all over the place compaired to my gps and perfect pass... (now that I have the sensor properly located)
for a competition wakeboard/ski boat its poor... It may have to do with all the turbulance my Pro hull generates to suck down the stern and make great wakes....?
to get to my point.... I just purchased this boat, spirng 04....
When I first installed my pp the volt meter(on PP gauge) only read 10.5 to 11 volts....
my nautique volt meter was showing low also, I used ele contact cleaner (sray can) on the six pin pod plug sparingly and then I filled the blocks with die-electic contact grease and have had spot on volt meter reading as well as somewhat better speedo/tach indications...... no where near an old air guide... but closer to the pp... but always hunting on the teleflex.....
I thought I saw a thread here about converting to the 03 gauge mfg.... a mod I might consider later on.... I got this boat in FL and it needs a heater and shower soon or I'll have to put it away...2001 PAN 1995 ramlin single axle

Our Air Nautique just had the speedo and tach replaced in July and the tach is going again. I know CC is offering new guages by Faria. I just don't know if the trim piece around the edge would be silver to match all the rest of my guages. And I don't know how much $$$ they want.
I've heard of the problem with PP happening when there is not a good ground at the dash.Jeff

The Teleflex gauges are a problem. Even if CC sends you new ones, they are bound to go out. Talk to your dealer about getting the Faria replacement gauges. They are much better. If your PP has the paddle wheel, the installation is pretty easy. If not, the Faria gauges require the paddle wheel.
I understand that CC is offering the Faria gauges at a discount--like $150.00. They won't cover the install. Sooner or later, Teleflex will run out of the original gauges and CC will be forced to offer the Faria replacement to those boats still in warranty.

The Faria guages on my limited are hooked up to two pitot tubes. They indicate on the speedometer weather it is reading from the port or starboard pitot tube. This may be this way because the paddle wheel was put in at the dealership with the perfect pass not at the factory.Current

I am going to add something to this thread that I have been thinking about for some time now. I am also on my second set of Speedo & Tach replaced for free from teleflex. I am 100% positive that I will be replacing them again soon.
It seems to me that Teleflex is opening themselves up for a major problem. My biggest concern with the gauges is the fact that the tach has the capability/responsibility for tracking hours!! Does anyone else see this a being a major problem with resale value???
If you do not have perfect pass installed (which also tracks hours but can be reset at anytime), and your tack goes out. You have absolutley no way of knowing exactly how many hours are on your boat. If you are an honest person (and I know everyone on this site is!!) then you can't represent you boat in a good light upon resale.
I don't want to go too overboard with this but I have seriously thought about writing teleflex a letter (with a copy to Correct Craft) asking for a long-term solution on the lack of resale value for my boat due to really poor gauges.
I would be very interested in hearing other opinions on this.'01 Ski Nautique

IMHO your time and money would be better spent installing a $50.00 hobbs ( hour ) meter.... in the side panel area or under the engine cover....
unless you've got lots of time, money and a really good lawyer, they will not address this issue... once again JMHO>>>>>2001 PAN 1995 ramlin single axle

Agree!! I realize that there are some inexpensive less-than-perfect solutions, but I just can't get past the heartburn of paying 30K for a boat and having such poor quality instrumentation. I don't have the money it would take to press the issue, but it seems to me that nobody (that I know of) has addressed the concern. I have to believe that over the long-term either correct craft or teleflex will be forced to deal with it. Just thought that I would ask the question to see if anyone else on this site had similar thoughts.'01 Ski Nautique

Unfortunately I'm on the receiving end of this issue. About nine months ago I purchased a 2001 SAN that the owner advertised as having only 74 hrs. I bought the boat for 32K which at the time was a smoking deal being the boat is fully loaded. Well six hours on the water the engine failed. Digging up its paper trail I found out the gauges were changed therefore the hours reset to zero and the engine had been rebuilt twice. Would I have known this I definately wouldnt have purchased the boat. I just got my boat back $4500 dollars later and dropping in a new motor. Im currently looking into getting a lawyer involved.

Joesboatn,
I am sorry to hear about your experience. I could have just as well been in your shoes. I bought a demo '01 from the dealer in '02 that had just had the tach replaced. I took his word on the hours, but now that I think about it, it could have easily been double of triple the hours.
I have to believe that there are more people out there with this same type of problem. The more I think about it, the more I become increasingly concerned.
