Orange tint on bottom of hull

I'm sure this has been asked before, but each time we take to boat out on the water for the day the boat develops a slight orange/brown tint on the bottom of the hull. Any input on what kind of product I can use to take this off without any damage to the gel coat?

The river we ride in isn't the cleanest water!

This may be frowned upon, I'm not sure but I have a 90 Sport and my lake makes the hull turn that color. I spray a little rust-aid on it and then hose it down awith water and it is white again. I don't even need to scrub. Has not seemed to harm the gelcoat at all.

There are lots of options, but we use Lysol toilet bowl cleaner. You will be amazed at how white the hull will be. You do not have to leave it on long at all, just a few minutes. We get the gel version and apply it with a sponge. Go back after a few minutes, rub it again with the sponge and then rinse thoroughly. Keep in mind that this takes everything off the hull, wax included, so you will want to reapply wax. We do not do this everytime we pull it out of the water, maybe just once or twice a year.

FSR works great on getting stains and water marks off of gelcoat. You can get it at West Marine.

Starbrite Hull Cleaner takes off colors that I couldn't get off with FSR. I found out the key was to to let it site for a while, then go hose it off. If you just spray and wipe or spray and hose, it doesn't do much. Let it site 30 minutes and it makes it bright white.

How does the starbrite work on colors other than white in the hull?

I've used Starbrite on black and red and purple and green - no issues whatsoever). Note that none of the colors were CC gel though, if that matters.

I use a product called On/Off from West Marine. It is kind of toxic but you just spray in on and hose it off. Works great but also takes the wax off.
