160 degree thermostat

My new to me model year 2001 SN should has a 160 degree thermostat. The boat temp gauge always reads 165-170 whether idling or running full speed. I've wrench tightened all the hose clamps on the intake side of the system and the intake screen is clean.

Is it normal for the gauge to read 165-170?
