    spider cracks on hull, worry?

I was looking at a 04 san and it looks like it definately hit something on the hull and spidered it out a long way in many directions. It didnt take any of the gel out or chip it but it looks nasty. I had considered buying this boat but and rethinking it because of that problem. I am working to try to give the guy near the asking price with intent of fixing the damage regardless of the cost. It seems to be superficial but I dont know, how bad is hairline cracks below the water line?

It won't affect your performance if it is hairline cracks, but fixing that is really expensive, and hard to make look perfect. I would make a couple calls to see what you are in store for pricewise and negotiate off of that. Or move on and find one that wasn't bashed in to something. What is a "long way" ?

There should be plenty of 04s out there w/o any cracks in the gelcoat. Are you selling the Sport?

The boat is a non-negotiable 34k, so I would probably pass. My boat is currently for sale in the for sale section. It will be modified as far as pricing goes because I am not in the need-to-move status I was previously in.
