So this past weekend i took the boat out, its a 98 SS/SAN with the GT-40 Fuel injected. It usually runs under an indicated 150 degrees on the temp guage, but it got up to almost 200 so i shut it down and got a tow back to the ramp. I checked the raw water strainer and the intake on the bottom of the boat and the belts and found nothing. So i thought that even though i put a new raw water impeller in in the spring, i pulled it today and inspected it and found a perfect impeller unfortunately. So now im stuck, why the high temps? water pump on the motor failure? T-stat? any advice on where to start would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
