knocking at idle in forward

99 Sport GT-40 Seems to be a drive train noise at forward gear idle only. The noise is a knocking sound, as soon as I add a few RPM's it goes away. I was told they all do this?

Check the propeller nut.

At a low rpm, the engine may not smoothly run, meaning it may have a touch of a lope to it. When that happens, the gears in the transmission may knock a touch because of the accelerating and decelerating in essence. Both my 85 and 93 sport dif that and I naver worried about it.

Damper Plate. Just changed mine in my 1990 Sport. The noise is he little springs chattering. The Sound was alway at idle and with just a little more RPM it went away. While I was at it I also changed the strut bushings.

Now she runs smooth and quite.

i would start with the dampner plate also or set your idle little higher if its not in specs
