99 Sport GT-40 Seems to be a drive train noise at forward gear idle only. The noise is a knocking sound, as soon as I add a few RPM's it goes away. I was told they all do this?

RE: knocking at idle in forward
At a low rpm, the engine may not smoothly run, meaning it may have a touch of a lope to it. When that happens, the gears in the transmission may knock a touch because of the accelerating and decelerating in essence. Both my 85 and 93 sport dif that and I naver worried about it.

Originally posted by steelerguyDamper Plate. Just changed mine in my 1990 Sport. The noise is he little springs chattering. The Sound was alway at idle and with just a little more RPM it went away. While I was at it I also changed the strut bushings.
Now she runs smooth and quite.
