What size is the shaft bearing for the strut on a 99 SAN? 1 1/8" shaft.

What makes you think you need one? Is it worn out and loose?
Make sure you do a very good alignment after you replace it. Try for .000.
Do a search on the process here and CCFan.the WakeSlayer

RE: Shaft bearing size
Forgot that was you that put that up yesterday. What is compelling you to do either of these? is your packing nut shot?
You need to verify your alignment is on, yes. If either of these items you are changing are worn, that is a clear indication of alignment issues. Technically, we are supposed to align our boats periodically. I forget what the book says as far as intervals, but it is more frequently than the vast majority actually do it. Check it when you disconnect the coupler, I bet it is off a little.
Here is a good explanation on a direct drive, idea is the same on a V-drive.

RE: Shaft bearing size
Yeah it's gone. I don't like doing preventative maintenace if there is a better solution, espeically if the alternative is way cheaper than the PSS or OJ seal. I am going for the better solution. While it's out I'm chaning the bearing too.
That's pretty pricey on the bearing you posted. I am going to go with an XPC more than likely so I need to know the strut bore. I'll just mic it when I get a chance. I'm lining up the winter projects.

RE: Shaft bearing size
Your actual packing nut is fried? or is the packing just in need of replacing? Packing is $10-12 and a few minutes to replace. How many hours are on your boat?
Sorry to badger you, but it makes no sense to me how that could happen on a 10 year old boat.the WakeSlayer

RE: Shaft bearing size
Just my opinion, but, I think just adjusting or worst case replacing the packing is more than enough. Packing nuts and rope flax packing has been around for an awfully long time. No need to replace unless it needs replacing. I seriously doubt that your cutlass bearing needs replacing at this point either.
Just trying to help, best of luck. Still check your alignment.the WakeSlayer
