After tightening your hose clamps and checking the strainer, run it till you have a problem. Assuming you checked your oil for water as Daniel mentioned.
Is your boat carbed or MPI ? I generally go by the rule that carb = 143* and MPI = 160*. I read the 93pCM manual and they do not specify a stat, just state that operating range is 140-170*.

I have a 143 in the Mustang that fluctuates a lot, and a 160 in the SuperAir and that sticks at 160 tight.

I might guess your strainer is not sealed completely. It's sealed well enough to keep the motor cool but not enough to keep ehough water in the exhaust to prevent boiling/steaming. I had a 1995 that was plagued by that stupid strainer. I still have it in my attic after I got mad and removed it completely. Caused way more problems then it ever solved.

My third guess would be a few blades in the thermostat housing prevent the flow to one of the exhaust manifolds, again causing boiling/steaming.

If you think it could possibly have a bad head gasket pull the spark plugs. One or more will be obviously different than the desired tan coated image we like to see.

I still might replace the impeller. Although it looks OK if there was a smooth blade that would allow air. Cheap try.

Also is the gasket in the strainer. Some people empty them over the boat and the gasket falls in the water. Also check to see if it is cracked. I had that happen one time too. It cracked on the bottom where I couldn't see it.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. I'm going to be taking the boat out again this weekend so I'll look into all of these things. The strainer you refer to is that the inline clear plastic strainer for the raw water intake?

That would be the one. Normally on the back of the motor.

The screen in the strainer needs to be clean of weeds, and any other debris. And, as mentioned a few times now, inspect the cup for cracks, and make certain you have the ring gasket in there.

Pay attention to the weather when you run your tests.

Keep track of ambient temp, water temp, ambient dew point, and relative humidity. If conditions aren't favorable for "fog", you might not see the vapor even if you have a problem.

Well turns out the strainer had a decent size crack in it. Were going to be replacing it as soon as we get a chance. Although I doubt I'll be taking the boat out anymore this year. I only have time on the weekends and the weather for the upcomming weekend looks fairly poor. Once we fix this and make sure there are no other air leaks that should take care of our problems right?

                  Thanks for all the help

Skidim.com has them. I ordered 2 when I had the issue. I still have one spare.

When you order the replacement make sure you get an extra rubber gasket. Twice had friends clean theirs in the lake and lose the gasket. I keep an extra in my glove box.
