boat troubles??

alright guys my buddy has a malibu...(first issue )...anyways labor day weekend my buddy was being towed by his brother and after falling he made a turn to come get him picks him up and then boat starts to vibrate after 6mph...after taking to shop issues follow...

busted prop...busted rudder...shaft bent and stress fracturs in FG from support brackets

brother says he didnt feel or hear anything...question is is it possible to do that much damage and NOT hear or feel anything???

No. Possible to ding the prop and not feel it but that much damage takes an effort.

right...thats kinda what im thinkin ive got alot of hours behind a bu and driving one as well but never hit anything..just sounded like alot of damage for not feeling anything

It may gave been a submerged log. Alot o damage but there should have been at least a noise or jolt.

I do not know the experience of any of these people. It is possible they may have not noticed an impact, and thought it was just a wave, or something like that. I have heard of prop shat struts being bent by hitting the bottom of the river, close to the beach.
Labor Day weekend? Was any "barley pop" involved?

my second ding (first with me in the boat) put a small curl on one of the blades but it pretty much bounced the back of the boat. No doubt I hit something. And I was pretty much idling. Still not sure if it was a log or a slightly submerged rock. Damage says rock but water depth says log...

Sure it is. If he was turning at the time, the cavitation noise etc. would be not noticed. Heck, my wife could roll over a concrete pier and not notice.

well he denies hearing or feeling but oh well guess thats what insurance is for...no barley pop involved just DA syndrome...lol...cant be too hard on him couldve been me!!!
