    Compression - NonCC Engine

My wife's uncle is looking at getting a replacement engine for his Century Arabian. He found one on evilbay, but the following line has me concerned: "This engine has been compression tested and has seven cylinders that range from 130-135 psi, the eighth cylinder was rated at 115 psi."

Is this this a deal breaker, and what could it mean down the road as far as repair?

Here is the engine in question

    Thanks for your help!!!

Your cylinders should be within 10%. It could mean a leaky valve or bad rings. The teat for rings is to put about a teaspoon of oil in the cylinder and repeat the test If the compression comes up its rings and means a rebuild for the engine.

It's a deal breaker. Especially on an engine you cannot physically see and hear run.
My opinion, the price is way out of line, also.

compression test on a 4 stroke motor is ok, a leakdown test is the best
