Need help removing engine compartment panels on a 226

There must be a trick to this but I can't figure it out. The starboard side seems easy enough, there's a bracket at the top, but the port side is another story.

The top panel is held in place by the fiberglass and I can't figure out how to get it free of the tracks on the bottom.

As I pull up on the panel on the stern end, I can get it free of the track, but I can't for the life of me get the panel free on the other end, the bow end.

    Anyone know the secret?

Have you tried calling the service department of your Nautique dealer? They should be able to help you over the phone...
