This is my first year owning a v-drive. I have always had d-drives in the past and was able to winterize them myself. I am going to pull the 210 out this weekend to winterize and am wondering if I should just take it to the marina and have them winterize it. Is a v-drive a lot more difficult that a d-drive? It appears that it will be a lot more difficult to get to everything. Any tips are appreciated.

RE: winterizing a 210
Removing the spark plugs on the block to fog the cylinders is difficult to reach. Take the time to remove the side walls between the storage and engine compartments. I removed the back seat and laid down on top of the ballast tanks in the storage compartment to get at them comfortably. You can get by without removing the back seat, but I found it easier to do so. Everything else is a piece of cake.
Then again I have a 2009 EX343 engine in a 2002 SAN, so maybe a different engine yields different levels of difficulty....

RE: winterizing a 210
In addition to the steps you took with the DD, you will need to drain the water out of the vdrive gear box - my GT40 has a walters vdrive and it has 2 square headed bolts that are hard to get at that you will need to remove to drain it. Careful with them as they are easy to drop on removal or reinstallation. Also make sure the oil level in the vdrive is at the correct level/changed on the right intervals - this is separate from the engine oil and transmission oil. I remove the rear seat to make it easier to get at.2018 Ski Nautique 200 TE, H6

RE: winterizing a 210
Warm up the engine on a hose.. Change your oil and filter. Start engine on hose for a few seconds. Drain the block, exhaust manifolds, and RWP. Clamp a cut off garden hose to the hose exiting the strainer. Fill a bucket with 5 gal of RV antifreeze. Put the hose in it. Start the boat run til 10 seconds after the bucket is empty. You are winterized.
Optionally, fog the plugs. If you have ballast puppies, make sure you get the water out, or pump a gallon of AF in them also.
