parts ordering question

Ok - I apologize up front if this is a really dumb question. On my new-to-me 2003 Air 216, the little gas strut for the glove box is dead and the lid won't stay up. Since I'd like to communicate with the dealer in a reasonably intelligent manner, are there parts manuals available? Do people typically use them, or does one go into the dealer and take the more circuitous explanation route?

Go to the dealer and as for a glove box lid gas strut for your boat. Chances are this is not the first one they have replaced.

"Gas Springs": I just ordered mine last week. Attwood is the supplier. Size is SL31-20-1. The "20" in the number designates pounds of force. The "20" came standard with the boat, but you can order ones with greater force, and given that the 20 lb failed I ordered mine with 30 lbs resistance. Good luck.
