1995 SN (GT-40) Which Perfect Pass System?

My 1995 SN has a stock GT-40. I would like to install Perfect Pass over the winter, however am unsure what PP model is right for my engine. I see Digital Pro 6.0, 6.5, Stargazer etc. on a number of the used forums, however which one is the right one for me?
I am primarily a course skier. Our course does not have magnets at the moment and probably wont for a while. The odd time I will put the fat sacks in and scurf.
Your assistance is required.

Any cable system will work with your boat. I installed an old rpm only system on my 1995 several years ago, it worked fine as long as I did not use too many sacks. With sacks in rpm mode it would fall off plane and drop down to about 14-15mph from 21-22mph. I did my own install, it was easy, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

I put 6.5ng on my 97 with a GT-40 last month. That is the latest version until it goes to Stargazer. You will need all of the same wiring and servo motor with all of the systems. You can set your baseline set with a manual timer and ski without magnets, but unless you time every pass you won't know how close to being in tolerance your times are. Another thing to think about is whether or not you will ever use it for trick skiing or wakeboard. I did not install the paddle wheel, because I only course ski. If you want the slower speeds then you will need the paddle wheel. If you go Stargazer all of that is a non issue. I went with the 6.5ng to get the multi line display versus the single line. I think I built my sytem for around $700. Later if I want to upgrade to Stargazer all I'll have to do is change out the master module and hook up the GPS anntena. If money is not an object and you want accurate times I would go with Stargazer since you don't have magnets.

I have the 6.0 on my 2000SN We ave magnets so it works really well. Without magnetsI would go with the Stargazer. Its GPS based and doesn't need magnets. With the older systems without magnets your time can vary

Unless there is a recent update of which I'm not aware, Stargazer still needs a timing trigger, i.e., a magnet or manual handheld timer to work properly. It does not work on GPS waypoints for entry gates like ZO does. The magnet would be on one buoy at each end of the course (assuming you run both ways on the course). Once that magnet tells the boat it's in the course, it plots the rest of the buoys virtually, including exit gates.

I figure the hand timer that used to come with the systems will work with this. But if you don't have one of those, you only need two magnets, which may be a cheaper solution anyway.
