    Heater Install Questions - SV211 - Engine Intakes/Wiring

OK. Down to just a few questions on this HeaterCraft Install on my 211.

Connections to Engine: I"ve got my connection at the intake manifold and was wondering if I will get enought pressure if I make the H2O pump connection on the top fitting (see pics) rather than on the port side fitting. The port side fitting will stink for winterizing purposes while the top fitting is easy to access.

Wiring the switch: The heater has four wires--ground and high, med, and low fan speeds. The stock heater switch in the accessories panel has power and seems to have 3 settings (turns on and I figure that's low, goes to med, and probably high before back to off). That panel appears to be a computer board and only has power running to the board itself to drive all accessory functions. Do I wire the heater directly to the breaker fuse panel by the driver's feet? I see to breakers, one for low heater and one for med/high heater. If so, any advice?

    Thanks guys!

    Wiring

Paleotm - you should already have the specific heater wiring harness/wires in place up front to access. I think the wiring is all installed at the factory whether or not the specific accessory is installed, this probably allows the dealer a simple way of installing additional accessories, such as the heater, should a customer wish to add this at purchase.

I added underwater LED's and used the existing harness for the belly ballast tanks which are not in my boat, a 196. The harness was down in the bilge "pre wired" so was an easy hook up and already switched for me at the keypad - the far left hand button. I did the same for docking lights and found the starboard tank harness and hooked to it. I would bet the harness for the heater is there already, just track it down, should be rather easy to loacte (if it is there).

I think somebody more knowledgable in this can either confirm it is there or correct me and provide you more accurate directions. Hope this was some help to you.

      RE: Wiring

Thanks. Your thoughts led me in the right direction. I found wiring harness diagrams on this site and I think this is the one for my boat (http://www.planetnautique.com/Correc...ingHarness.pdf). The wire colors are identically matched by color to the heater, so I think all I need to do is splice into the harness as you suggested. This should do the trick. A car mechanic also told me that I should get plenty of pressure from the top output on the water pump.
      Thanks again.

Did the top water pump output work for you? I'm about to install my heater and this looks like the path of least resistance.
