    Running Boat In Driveway

I have a new to me 2003 SANTE and want to change the oil. I want to run the engine first to warm the oil before I drain it. Is there a hose hookup to supply fresh water?
I did not receive any manuals with the boat.

Also do you guys use the drain tube or pump oil out through the dipstick?

    Thanks

    Bill

        Fake a Lake

Description mentions not fitting certain Nautiques.

I have four pickups on my boat. Three on the port side of the centerline one one on the starboard side. Which one is the engine pickup? If it's the starboard side there may be a problem getting the fake a lake to seal the area.

          Your new to you boat.

First, you should contact Correct Craft for a manual. It will really help you enjoy your boat, and give you something to do this winter.
Open your engine hatch. Look for a water strainer on a hose, about 1 1/2 inchec in outside diameter. One of the hoses on this strainer goes down to a shutoff valve, and then to a fitting on the hull, for engine water inlet. You should be able to find it, and the inlets for the ballast tanks. That should help. the engine inlet is not the through hull farthest forward, it is one of the other three.
I believe on the 2003 Super Air boats you can remove the last bits of water from the ballast tanks by putting the vacuum side of a wet-dry vac on the drain ports. It is important that you remove all the water, because the drain pump is the lowest point, and if it freezes, it can break the pump housing.

Loosen the clamp holding the intake hose onto the engine side of the shut-off valve, pull the hose off of the fitting, insert garden hose, tighten the clamp around the garden hose, turn on the water and fire 'er up. Same method works for sucking antifreeze into the block for winterizing - I have a 4' chunk of garden hose just for that purpose. Easier than crawling around with a fake-a-lake.

I find it even easier to pull the hose off the output side of the strainer. You don't want antifreeze in your strainer anyway.
Make sure you drain the block before pulling the antifreeze in.
