    Changed Tranny Fluid

I used the "Suck Up" from Discount Inboard Marine today to change out my tranny fluid. IT WORKED GREAT!

The small plastic (hard) tube got scraped in the tranny fill and a really small fellet of that material entered the tranny. Like if you took your fingernail to a candle and scraped off a really small portion.

Should I be worried? Is there any way to search for it...........

Try to suck it out through the tube.

Here is my tranny tube sucker attachment. Only the copper goes in. Next year, I might switch to stainless if I can find some scrap.

It won't suck back up into the tube since I can't really find it in there. My thought is that it is not a hard piece (like metal) that will do damage to plates or anything, my only real concern is if it plugged an opening or got stuck somewhere. My plan at this time might be to run it a few times and then change the tranny fluid again. In hopes it gets "mushed" into smaller particles and are able to be sucked out. What do you think?

I'm thinking I'd put a quart of fluid in and suck it back out as fast as you can. If you can build a vacuum up with that pump, pump it up and then let her suck.

There is another recent post of someone whose tube fell in. Find it and see what they ended up doing.

I just don't think that with everything that is in that tranny reservoir, that I would ever catch that little piece of plastic shread. I have a feeling it will hang up on the side of the cavity or on something or... or.....

The trans sump has a screen type strainer on the suction port to the pump. No worries needed.

you can tape a sheet of heavy alum foil, V shape the center, under the trans to the drain hole. funnel under the drain hole into gal container. no mess

Someone should develop a drain line to attach and leave on, just like the engine oild drain.

Is the drain on this an allen key?
