    Help With Ballast Tank

Late in the season my bilge filled with water (and I mean filled). When I closed the seacock it eliminated the problem. When I pulled the carpet to look at the tanks, I noticed that an elbow to the tank was broken.

    1) Would this have caused water to fill the bilge or ishould I be suspicious of another leak?

    2) Is this piece stock, or was it Jerry-rigged?

That is stock and yes it would have filled your bilge.

Those hoses are junk. After a few years they will split just moving them.

definately NOT stock. CC uses a black hose, plus I don't think they have ever put in check valves in their systems.

I am with wakejunky on this one. The PVC pieces of pipe do not look familiar to me, nor do the check valves. The hose that is clear and black spiral is stock.

If I recall correctly, my stock system in my 99 had those check valves. I am having a hard time remembering because I cut the entire system out within a couple days of getting the boat home. My advice is you do the same. You will be so much happier.

My system is stock in my 01 210 and looks the exact same as this one. Fixing to gut it though.

That is a stock system. That hose was used in the early systems. I just pulled a complete system out of an 01 SAN with that hose.

I should have mentioned that it was a 2002 - SAN. The PVC elbow is a "Lasco 1-1/4" x 3/4 ". Any recommendations for a replacement in terms of brands? I was just thinking of replacing the flexible hoses and buying the other hardware at e.g. Home Depot. Any other suggestions?

I bet home depot will have all the pvc parts, but the hose is a marine part. Just order it from west marine or boaters world.

Lowe's has that exact tubing. Look in the garden section. Comes in a large roll for $20
