My tilt steering fails to stay down. I was wondering if there was any advice for repair, or at least investigating the problem. Are they easy to take apart? It's a 92 SN if that matters.
if your steering will not stay down it is in the tilt mech. you can roll the rubber boot forwardand look and see if the tilt lock is coming in contact with the tilt mechanism. if not the tilt mechanisms are still available from teleflex and your local dealer should be able to hook you up. they take about an hour to change at the most. just watch what your doing when you take it apart.
