    12v accessory outlet

The 12v accessory outlets have gone out in my boat (2000 Air), any suggestions?

I have an 01 Air and want to know what the 12V button is for. Whenever I plug anything into the 12V outlet it works without pushing the botton on the dash. Is this working correctly. The green light does come on when buttom is pushed, just doesn't seem to control the outlet.

Do you have any other receptacles in the back of the boat? Mine runs the one in my dash, but I thought at some point they added additionals, not sure if that is the case on yours.

Isn't the 12v switch on the dash the button for a 12v accessory? There are wires behind the dash you can hook up any 12v accessory to. Lights, etc. I could be wrong...

Better get the volt meter out. "xlair" advice is good - check before buying unneeded parts!

I went to check the breaker box under the dash, but it had a disclaimer on it that might as well been a skull and cross bones, warning non certified technicians to stay out. I guess it served its purpose because it kept me out of there for the time being...

Should I decide to open it up, what am I looking for? this forum has pointed out that the 12V button on the dash controls the accessories added to the dash and not the actual 12v outlet
