Not too hard, I did mine. The plastic oval keepers have a little dimple that gets stuck in a hole so it doesn't pop free. Using a dull scribe you push the dimple in and pull on the cord at the same time. The little wedges holding the bungee cable in come right out. Be careful not to stab yourself in a finger. Just cut one off the boat and do the first one on the workbench. You'll quickly get the idea.
we're also in the process of re powder coating our racks and replacing bungee cord. does anyone know where we can get replacment the rubber for the racks. we have had to remove the original rubber to re powdercoat, they were also starting to wear. thanks.
Mine came from West Marine. The hardware store stuff did not seem as nice as the stuff West Marine had. I changed mine to dark blue since that is what color they had and it matched my boat better anyway.
