    Underwater Lights

On the list of winter projects this year, I have the task of deciding on what transom light(s) to install for "cool effect" and also for those occasional summer nights of wake surfing at night. Has anyone installed the following light on their boat? It installs within the drain plug - which seems like a novel idea and requires no hole in my $32K investment. I'm also wondering if 380 lumens is sufficient. Any comments/experience appreciated. Price is $300, which seems to be about ball-park for underwater lights.

Check out the Sea Blaze series from Lumitec http://lumiteclighting.com/products.html They are OEM on a couple boat lines. Only needs a small hole for the wiring.

Mikeski had a nice post with several manufacturers of lights - the one you found is a great idea for not drilling the hull

The post shows many different lumen options and will give you a better idea of what kind
of light "throw" you could see. Albeit depends on individual water clarity.

Search "underwater leds" (or something along those lines)

There are several options, not sure what you call economical but prices and results can vary. After testing many I seem to like the shadowcaster (www.shadow-caster.com) or abyss lights (www.abysslite.com) or bulletlines (http://www.bulletlines.com/underwate...lights-s/5.htm). If you want a good powerful light it will cost between $300-600. I have seen positive reviews of the drain plug light shown above.
