    Gas fumes - '03 SN

I have a 2003 Ski Nautique Limited. If you are down wind from the boat, you can smell gas fumes. I did not notice it much until a friend said somehthing. Now I smell it all the time.

It runs great, idles fine, etc.

Never had this problem with my '99.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

Is the smell outside the boat or in the bilge area. If it is outside check that the gas cap is tight. Also check to see if the gas is sloshing out of the vent If it is you have a faulty air fuel seperator on your vent line. I think trhey are about 35.00. If it is in the bilge area check all of the fuel hose fittings and the Fuel control cell canoster to make sure it isn't leaking.

You can smell it both outside and inside the boat. No gas sloshing out. I will check the hoses today.

It is more pronounced when you spin the boat or turn hard to drop a skier. No gas stains from it sloshing out though.

      thanks

I noticed the exhaust fumes were more prominant with my 03 Excalibur based Nautique than my GT-40 99 SNOB. My buddy noticed the same thing with his 03 Nautique. Not sure why.
