    dr-john,
perfect picture examples, the first boat has the upright super air type tower legs, the bottom pic, has the more rounded type tower legs for the direct drive boats, airs and such.

OK, help me out.....since my DD boat is like #1, and my tower looks the same as tower #1, what is your thinking regarding tower #2 and the fit problem? I'm really confused! :shaking:

        exactly

you have the top to the bottom boat, legs to the top boat. When you recieved the tower, did you bolt it up together, front legs on the knuckles, rears bolted on the back? In other words, did the tower fit itself before you put it on the boat? Looking at your pictures, there is no way that the tower bolted up together.

Mike-d, yes, I did bolt it all together. It fit pretty well, however, it was skewed or distorted and did not fit the deck location without "torqueing" it to fit.
I.E. when bolted up, the feet were not square to each other, but more like a parallelogram.

Mike-d ....... You've got GREAT eyes... Now that I'm looking at all the pictures I'm sharing you opinion... Dr.John you've got the wrong upper part.. I can imagine that the tower would fit when not installed, but the aligning is some different between the two when bolded...

              confusion

              Dr-John,
when you received the tower, you took the bottoms and bolted them up to the top of the tower? Front knuckles bolt thru, rear bottoms of the top sitting in the ball cup bolted up? Looking at your pictures, there is no way the tower would fit if the rear bottoms were bolted in, the tower is angled way too much away from the front knuckle, when bolted down. Your best bet would be to drive it over to the dealer and tell them they sold you the wrong pieces for your boat, its pretty obvious they dont fit.

Yes, I did bolt it up and yes it was not a perfect fit, but it DID go together.
As I said before, when I place the tower on the deck, it did not align very well, so I took it to the dealer. He said it just needed tweaking!

I still do not see the difference in the upper tower sections. You guys have really good eyes!

After digesting the email and postings, it's obvious that what I am dealing with is more of an unusual condition. Whether it's the wrong top section or a damaged top section, doesn't really matter. Bottom line is it should bolt on, function correctly, and provide years of trouble free service. Not too much to ask for a $2,200 accessory!

For what it's worth, what has been your experience with CC dealers taking responsibility for poor workmanship and/or errors :?:

Update: It's at the dealer. Should get an assessment shortly, and I will chronicle the events :!:
