It's easier to remove the belt by loosening the tensioner, just take a pic of the belt config before you loosen it. On a 230/6, it's easier to remove the engine dividers. You can do it without removing them, but I found I could loosen the tensioner by reaching across from where the pump is (starboard side), but I just couldn't re-install the belt from that side.
The other posts about the tools and sizes of extensions etc. are spot on. Once you break the pump housing bolts loose, piece of cake to pull the impeller.

There is a belt routing sticker on the front of the engine....but it may be hard to see.

if you can't get a good pic the belt configuration diagram is in the PCM manual or you can download the PCM pdf file & print off the one sheet you need

If you forget the belt configuration myself, or someone else on here will happily send a pic. Mine has a picture. It's definitely not fun, but it's fairly easy and quick to do this yourself.

              DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT (6.0L)
              6.0L SERPENTINE BELT #: R066027
              1. Note the routing of the belt before removing.
              2. Using a 15 mm box wrench or socket, turn the
belt tensioner to relieve the tension on the belt.
Slide the belt off of the pulleys. Release the
tensioner slowly to prevent the tensioner
from snapping against its stop, and possibly
              causing damage to the tensioner.
              3. Slide the new belt onto the pulleys using the
same routing as noted prior to removal.
              4. Compress the belt tensioner, and slide the belt
over the tensioner pulley. Release the tension
              slowly to tension the belt.
              SERVICING RAW WATER PUMP IMPELLER
              (6.0L)
              6.0L IMPELLER KIT #: RP061022
The raw water pump impeller should be serviced every
50 hours, or once a year, whichever occurs fi rst. See
              Maintenance Schedule.
Locations “A” (Figure 11-20) are access holes in order
to loosen the raw water pump attaching bolts. The bolts
are secured in the pump by O-rings, and will not fall out
              during removal.
Torque the raw water pump housing attaching bolts
              to 8.5-9 ft.lbs. (11.5-12 N-M), when re-installing the
              impeller.

Piece of cake. You can slip the belt off of the pump only and change without worrying about the serpentine maze.
