Replace Entire Pass Thru Window on 02 SANTE?

So a semi in front of us on the freeway hit a full sheet of plywood, shattering it into fragments as it spun through all its wheels. An approx. 12"X18" piece glanced off my windshield, then flew back and knifed right through the center pass through windshield of the boat...bending the bottom part of the frame and of course shattering the glass throughout the boat into a million pieces...

CC wants $319 + tax + shipping to replace the whole framed center window...does anyone know if I have any alternative/less expensive option? I dropped the frame off at a local glass shop to see if they could straighten the frame and drop in a new tempered piece of glass. Worried that it won't really match the original Taylor Made glass on the rest of the windshield...

Appreciate any advice to remedy this before summer comes...

Sorry to here that but I guess if that is the only damage you are lucky. You could try calling Ameritex. I 'm not sure if they still build Nautique window frames but I am pretty sure they used to.

A pipe once bent cannot be righted. Same probably goes for a metal window frame. Did you get the How's My Driving number on the semi? If so, you might want to at least make an attempt to get them to pay for it.

Not much help here, but I had a similar thing happen to my 2007 236. It was the driver's side piece of the windshield that shattered on mine. No idea what hit it. It was fine when we left the lake, and in a million pieces when we got home. Not a cheap fix!

White Lake did a great job fixing it though!

The glass may be labled Ameritex, they are owned by Taylormade now. Go with the factory glass, $319 is not bad and it will have the proper tint and match what you have. Just be glad its not the curved glass, that would run you 2.5 times that price to replace.

Thanks for the input everyone--looks like I'll be biting the bullet and getting the factory replacement...
