    Exhaust leak

So I've got a pretty noticeable exhaust leak on the driver's side of the engine. Shouldn't be too much of a problem except the fact that the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold to the block have rusted out and disintegrating heads. Looks like I get to do some extensive bolt removing surgery but the problem is determining the best way to go about it.

If I do it myself - what is the best operating procedure? (my boat is stored at my parents' house for winter and i have almost every tool known to man available there)

    or

would it be easier to take to an auto mechanic and let him spend all of 20 minutes pulling them?

if there rusted to the point that allen wrench will not work i cut the heads off with a cut off wheel on mine and then sprayed the remaining studs with pb blast and they came right out with a pair of vice grips get your self new gasket and allan bolts. When installing new gasket or manifolds make yourself some guides that will hold the manifold in place while you start the other bolts by using two 3/8 3'' bolts that you cut the heads off hand screw them into the end bolt holes one on each side, slide the gasket on and then the manifold the guides would hold the heavy manifold while u start the other bolts. you have to remove the spark plugs and plug the spark plug holes so no metal gets in there and wear safty glasses if you were local i would help its not that hard on a direct drive

Also make sure you cover the carpet so the metal shaving don't get everywhere. I had a friend whose machanic didn't now you can't walk on the carpet barefoot and it is orange.
