    Speedometer Pickup

I have a 1997 Ski 196, and the port side speedometer pick is broken.
I have found the replacement part on natuiqueparts.com. My problem is that it says the mounting holes are different, if that is the case how do I mount it? I also noticed it is a different color then my current gray ones, so then I would have to get 2 so they match.

Any other suggestions is greatly appreciated

    Just use the pickup

If you punch the brass pin out of the old pickup and new one you should be able to mount the new pickup in the old mount. That saves drilling any holes in the transom. If its a little tight take a file and file both sides of the pickup a little until it fits like the old one.

To mount the new ones, just drill the mounting portion of the new pickup on either side of where the new pickup meets the base. Use the old airguide pickup to mark the holes. You do not have to drill new holes in the transom. Use the 3M marine sealant on the screw holes. In our experience the newer style pickups are much better at resisting clogs than the old airguides are.
