HELP...looking for red boat that was sanded and polished

I am trying to find a thread on here that was a red boat that the owner sanded and polished the gelcoat. This owner did a professional job. The boat look brand new when he finished. He posted lots of pics of his progress. Does anyone remember? Can you give me a link?

You are talking about Grant West. Check Wakeworld. I'm pretty sure it is on there.

I believe I saw it one here either 1 or 2 years ago. I think it is diffent from the grant west red boat ( I just saw him repair a little spot) the boat I am thinking about was completely sanded. Thanks for the help tho.

The only one I recall on this site is TRbenj's boat. It is a 90 SN with Red and black stripe. He wetsanded that boat back to an original shine, including the faded black dash. BKH

Not a Nautique but we did restore this TS6M fairly recently, which included a full wet sand/compound/buff.

How 'bout a little reverse action...

I am in the process of restoring a 1967 Ski Nautique that is in really rough shape. I sanded, wetsanded, and buffed a couple spots two weeks ago. When I say rough, I mean ROUGH condition.

This took me twenty minutes and i really did not know what i was doing.

I plan to do the whole boat at some point this Spring or Summer and live with it like that for a year or two. Putting my money in the motor first. She is going to go like mad when I get done.

Is there a trick after the wetsand stage? I wetsanded a few spots on mine and the black now looks dull / attracts water vapor. What compound do people recommend? Should I be using an Orbital buffer on the final stage?

thanks Justin, but that is not the one I am looking for. The one I am thinking of had the windshield removed, he sanded the entire top of the boat.. Thanks again, Travis
