Walkthrough windshield hits on bottom part of frame. Can I adjust this?

On my '08 210, the windshield that opens up to the bow area is hitting the frame on the bottom when I close it. It is really tight and chipping the paint off. Is there any way to adjust the windshield so it doesn't hit anymore?

Well, my nearest dealer is at least an hour away, so I would rather do it myself if it's fairly easy and not pay $40+ in gas to tow it there and back. Anyone know how to adjust the windshield???

I am pretty sure if you remove the rubber strip in the bottom of the windshield it will give you access to the screws that mount it. It can't be all that difficult to adjust, may just be time consuming getting it just right.

I had the smae problem on my 206. I dismantled the frame, trimmed off a few millimeters and reassembled the frame and now it works perfectly. fortunately the glass did not require any trimming but if you need to you can use a sanding machine along the edge, with care, to take a bit off the glass edge to reduce the size a bit.

When you assemble the rubber trim you could use a saopy solution to get it to fit together pretty easily.

          Hope this helps.

I've seen it done two ways on my last boat.

            1. Loosen the fasteners the port side of the windshield, adjust, and retighten (this does not mean remove the port side of the windshield).

            2. Give the walkthrough portion a healthy couple of yanks in the correct direction (usually up and to port).

I know what you're thinking on that second method. However, while I agree that the second solution seems absolutely ridiculous to those of us who tend to give our boats the Ferris Beuller Ferrari treatment, this is the method my dealer used to adjust the pin hinged walkthrough windshield panel on my old MC. They tend to sag over time and can start to no close true. He's a very good CC service tech with close to 20 years experience and they are insured. He smiled at me, told me I may not want to watch, and had it fixed in a few seconds. Would I ever undertake to accomplish this by method #2 myself? Absolutely not. But it did work and was gratis.

            Your mileage may vary.
