    GT-40 start problem

I have a 1997 nautique with a GT-40 engine. It idles and runs geat, however when I try to start it hot or cold it revs up and the stalls. I have to attempt to start it about 2 or 3 times before it will continue to run. Once started it runs fine. Any ideas?

    HI

I can only suggest to clean the throttle body and air bypass valve with carb cleaner, I've not had this same issue but was troble by stalling until I cleaned the valve. Other possibility is the Throttle position sensor, you can test this with a voltmeter.

      Gt-40 problems

Check the fuel pressure. 99 % of the time problems with the gt-40 are fuel related. There is also a ECU scanner out there at your local dealer or? that can check all of your sensors and make sure they are all with in specs. Your 97 should have EFI so you have at least three sensors and two relays for the fuel pumps that all be checked. If you go to the manual side of this Forum, you can download all the spec on what the sensors are suppose to be. Good luck
