I've read lots post and many have added ballast bags to their super sport. I'm curious on several items. I just bought a 2004 SS. This boat alreay has a through hull water intake valve. Do you think it had ballast and the previous owner took them out? Also my ignition panel and control has the buttons for three ballast pumps. Can those be used with other pumps? I've noticed on most post people are adding toggle switches instead of using this control. Is there a particular reason not to use the factory panel?

It's possible that the boat had a system in it and someone removed it. As for the switches or buttons on your panel, they are not designed to handle the voltage of the newer style jabsco pumps. You would have to wire in relays in order to use the factory switches, which is doable, however is a pretty involved wiring project.2001 Super Air Nautique

I agree with bcheasly
I looked into using the existing switches (or buttons) in my case, but they are designed to work with the Tsunami style pumps and not the reversible impellar pumps. Wiring would have been next to impossible (at least for me).
Is you thru hull attached to any hoses? or it is just terminated at a ball valve?Eric, Phoenix AZ
