The pnuematic piston that holds open the glove box lid has lost its mojo. Where is the best place to buy one of these, other than the dealer, and is there a proper technical description of this product so I can look it up? Its about 5 inches long.

Jeff has the best place. If you cant wait NAPA Auto carries them but you need to take yours in and expect to pay a little more. I also replaced mine with a 30 pound instead of the stock 20

I just put on a Napa 40lbs gas strut on my 06 Nautique 211. Works great so far! The dimensions of the strut are 5.5" compressed and
7.5" extended..

Napa part number for 20lbs: 819-5620
Napa part number for 40lbs: 819-5582
Oreillys auto parts 25lbs: 95969
Oreillys auto parts 35lbs: 95970

Per Jeff's advice, i bought one from Nautiqueparts.com. Very easy to deal with and quick turn-around. Cost $19.95, got a $2.00 planetnautique discount, but it cost $10.95 to ship. Total cost, $28.90. Got it in 3 days and it works like a charm. Its amazing how the little things make a difference - a $28 part affected my enjoyment of a $30,000 boat.
