Ok so I have the GT40 in an 01 SAN and have been running boat in yard on the flush pro. When I start it it runs fine for 5 minutes then it shuts off from then on it will start run for 3 seconds and shut off. However if i start boat and hold the start button down it will stay running as long as I keep button depressed. If i walk away and leave boat to sit for several hours it will repeat prior sequence. Is this a fuel pump problem? I am really starting to miss my 89 Supra Conbrio carburated boat as it was paid for and started and still starts everytime the key is turned over (sold boat to a friend).

Since it stays running with the start button held down, that really points to the kill switch/lanyard connection. Check to be sure it is properly seated, and that the wires on the kill switch aren't loose.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Checked Laynard
I checked connections on laynards and where it plugs into harness and they all look good also took laynard off so kill switch is not depressed and no change in how boat behaves. The closest Nautique dealer is 2 hours away in Dothan AL not sure if I want to tke boat to my loacal Chaparral Dealer? Anyone know any good Nautique mechanics in Southwest GA?

Trevor,
Didn't you have your boat running just a couple days ago?
http://planetnautique.com/vb3/showth...y-Cranked-Help!
I would temporarily try to bypass the lanyard just for the sake of isolating and testing that one piece. If it starts then, on the hose obviously, your switch is bad. Just order a new one. Will possibly save you a 6 hour drive.
FWIW, It would probably be easier to follow and help if you just keep a single thread going.the WakeSlayer

Hi
Could be your keypad. You need to check that the ignition / run circuit is 12 volts, on my GT40 SN2001 this is a purple wire. I have had something similar and found the fuel pump relay needed to be reseated then my fuel pumps ran again but engine would not. I disconnected the battery to reset ECM, came back the next day it was fine. Really you need to trace that ign cct and see it stays live. Cheers Greg

Issue is intermitent.
So I have cranked and ran the boat in the yard several times with no issue. Got ready to take boat out for first time of season and the issue of boat cranking and cutting itself off in 3 seconds has reappeared if I hold start button down boat will remain running but if I let off of start button boat cuts off.
