    Shower Repair

Hey guys, I need some help to fix my shower. I have a '95 SN with the GT-40 and the factory installed shower. The shower hasn't worked since I bought it last year. The previous owner told me that one of the hoses broke so he removed the fitting from the right side of the engine block, (the hot water supply?). I have a piece of the hose that broke, and its red if that helps. All the other hoses look to be in the right place are all hooked up, and the pump operates. I'm wondering if any of you could post pics of the shower installed, or any help with where the hot water supply needs to go. Does the hot water supply go through the pump? Thanks in advance for the help.

The hot water line is hooked into the side of the block. You remove the normal plug and put a barbed fitting into the block so that you can put a hose clamp on the hose and attach it to that fitting. From there, the line goes to your hot valve which is under the port side coaming pad on that boat. Then there is another hose that goes from the valve to the pump.

      Thanks skinautique,
Are you saying that the hot water line doesn't go through the pump? If that's the case, I think I can figure it out. Know where I can buy the barbed fitting and hose? SkiDIM the best place?

You can pick up a brass fitting with a ball valve at Home Depot! This way you can turn off the valve if your hose ever breaks again.

Try skidim or heatercraft if they do direct sales or you may have better luck at the dealership. One of those 3 should get you taken care of. There are seperate lines that go to the pump on that system.

Give Paul or James a call over at Houston Watersports Complex a call. They can talk you through it and/or get you the parts you need. Their number is 713-920-2157.

They installed the shower in my SAN when I bought it.

I re-did the shower on my 95SN this past summer. The pump is after the mixing valve in the grey hose. Red hot to block, blue cold to raw water line. I really did not like the factory location of the mixing valve inside the motor box down by the pulleys (maybe the dealer installed it there?). I thought it was kind of like an accident waiting to happen. I bought the new mixing valves with a switch on the flush mount plate and relocated the valves under the rear seat cusion. I also moved the pump up under the gunwale. I think it is much more user friendly this way.

Thanks for all the input, I got it working over the weekend. The worst part was having to move the fuel tank to route the new hose behind it. So far the only leak I have is at the shower head, might have to get a new one. Also the hose I got is a nylon braided hose, rated at 175 degrees. I know the engine doesn't get much over 160, is this a concern? I figure if its rated at 175 it will hold up at higher temps. It was the only 3/8" hose I could find, and I went to several hardware stores. I couldn't find a valve that would mate up with the fitting I installed in the block, any suggestions?
