Hoping for a snigle thread for pictures of wakes and the ballast weight that made it

I know that there are tons of forums regarding ballast weights, set-ups etc. on PN. I was hoping to sort of condense the main parts (size of wake for which sport, and the set-up which made it) for an easy reference area for both new users, old users planning upgrades or people looking to decide which model of Nautique (or CorrectCraft per earlier post/I like both names btw) to purchase. This may be a dumb idea but there seems to be 5-6 posts a week looking for information which this may be able to tie all together. I am currently putting in my new ballast system so I have nothing to post just yet but I will hopefully just after easter. Let me know what you all think

it really doesn't matter how much weight you have if you're doing a 60/40 rear distribution. some only use stock tanks. some like myself will use stock and a 400 on the floor and 250lbs in the bow for wakeskating. a real wake for wakeboarding starts at about 2000lbs on top of factory and goes up as much as you want from there.

I understand the weighting of a boat, the 60/40 etc.... But I was hoping that people could post thier pics of wakes for surfing, skiing, wakeboarding with any kind of novel advice on how they shaped it. You never know what you might learn

Pic with no rider is wake with ballast only.

Pic with rider is wake with about 1K above ballast.

Wake pictures are useless. Even seeing the wake in person does not tell the full story. I have seen wakes that did not look that impressive that booted the he11 out of me, and others that looked good that were pointless. Not to mention that it is so easy to photoshop the pix. To my point the wake pictures above are taken at different zoom levels, the first one is on the inside of a turn, even then they don't look significantly different to me, just looks like a different zoom.

That was the first thing I thought when I saw those pics. Who knows if the speeds were the same in both pics as well.

i'd have to agree that the hull makes a huge difference in wake performance. my old boat had a longer transition and was alot softer and wider than my 210. it took more energy to ride. it was nice, just not as steep or hard packed.

speed was definitely different on both pics. but just happened to take pics when i only had the ballast full, and when i had about 1K in weight filled on the same day. only difference visible to me is the lip that is more noticable with the weight.
